Food stains or dried milk Clean softly with wet cloth, then buff dry followed by wax Scrub the scuff with cleaner and scrub pads made specifically for urethane finishes.
Grease and oil stains Soak cotton with hydrogen peroxide and apply to problem area. Then soak more cotton with ammonia and press over the first cotton application. Repeat the process until the stain is gone. Air dry area followed by hand buff. Scrub the scuff with cleaner and scrub pads made specifically for urethane finishes.
Ink stains and dark spots Brush the spot with #000 steel wool and wax. If no improvement, lightly sand with fine sandpaper and clean the area using #00 steel wool and mineral spirits or a wood floor cleaner. Air dry followed by stain, wax, and hand buff. If no improvement, soak area with vinegar for 45 minutes and follow by using a wet cloth to rub it out.
Then gently rub the area with sandpaper to smooth. Finish with stain, wax and hand buff.

Mold or Mildew Gently scrub problem area using a cloth and wood floor cleaner. Scrub the area with cleaner and scrub pads made specifically for urethane finishes. For mold and mildew that has penetrated the surface, sand and refinish the area.

Scratches Wax the problem area with a cloth. Use a touch-up kit created specifically for urethane finishes to repair area.
White spots and water stains Brush the spot with #000 steel wool and wax. If no improvement, lightly sand with fine sandpaper and clean the area using #00 steel wool and mineral spirits or a wood floor cleaner. Air dry followed by stain, wax, and hand buff. Scrub the scuff with cleaner and scrub pads made specifically for urethane finishes.
